Famous Fathers Faces

Saturday 24 November 2007 - a big day in FFCC history as the now familiar and famous tie dye strip is created. Anyone know who that bloke is on the far right? He looks familiar.... :-)

2009 - From Flyer to Fizzer

The 2009 season got off to the best possible start over New Year’s Eve at the spiritual home of the FFCC, Nuggan, Bawley Point.

From there however it has been all downhill. The first match back saw the reigning champs take on the might of the Polar Bears. Unfortunately due to dubious bowling, fielding and batting displays from the entire team the Fathers conspired to steal defeat from the jaws of victory and went down by 20 runs.

The second match of the new season saw the once mighty FFCC face up to the inscrutable Intuitive Bilby’s. After a poor start the Father’s rallied but the damage had already been done. Defending a paltry 55 was never going to be easy and poor fielding didn’t help the cause at all. In the end the Bilby’s ran out easy winners by over 100 runs.

So what has happened in 2009 to the once mighty Fathers? With two of the club’s legends poised to hit the 100 cap mark within the next fortnight serious questions have been raised about the team’s big game desire in 2009. The selectors will have a tough but important job this week particularly in the crucial appointment of a new captain, a captain with the mettle to rebuild this once proud team.

One thing is for sure; you write off the champions at your peril, a return to form is surely just around the corner.

Next match is Tuesday 20 January at 6pm.

The lucky 8 are as follows:

1. Snorky
2. Norris
3. Hugo
4. Billy (beer boy)
5. Gladdy
6.Choco
7. Gilly
8. Cheese (captain)

Reserves: Nads (stranded on 99 proud matches - want to bring you and Norris in together); Itchy; Gristle; Madman (when are you back?); Harmie etc etc.

NEWS FLASH!
