The Fantastic Founding Fathers have posted back to back wins for the first time this season under the sublime captaincy of Nads. Could this be a well timed form reversal leading into the finals? The win was constructed on the back of a fine batting foundation.

After a slow start Conga and Gladdy got the team off to a solid start with 40. Nads and Choco came firing out of the blocks with a commanding 49. Nads producing a match winning captains knock of 33. Gilly and Neil got off to a bad start and found it hard to recover. Snorky and Itchy built their innings slowly with their last two overs producing a very important 27 runs.
Man of the Match – Nads led the way in the field with spectacular catches and run outs. But it was Nads role as captain that proved the match winner. Intelligent bowling changes were the highlight of his performance. Itchy got the Fathers off to a flier with 1 for 3. Nads recognised the spell that Itchy had cast over the hapless opening Brewsters Pair and gave him a second bowl to take 2 for 3. Nads was to pull the same trick against the second pair. Choco produced a superb over - snatching two consecutive wickets and finishing with 2 for 1. Nads gave him a second go at this pair netting 1 for 6.
After 8 overs the Brewsters were in trouble at 8 for 47. But with only two overs to go the game was in the balance with the Brewsters 12 for 94. Needing 28 runs from their last two overs, Nads realised he had made a mistake with only himself and Gladdy to bowl. He couldn’t risk giving Gladdy the penultimate over or the game could be lost. Nads produced a superb captains over taking 2 for 10 thus ensuring that Gladdy could not stuff up. The Fathers consistently took crucial wickets to keep the Brewsters at bay (see chart below). This was the Fathers’ best bowling and fielding effort for the season against a strong batting line up that battled it out to the end. The Brewsters finished with 16 for 108.
Bowling figures:
Itchy 3 for 6 (pictured celebrating with the ICC trophy...)
Choco 3 for 7
Conga 1 for 14
Neil 1 for 21
Snorky 1 for 16
Gilly 1 for 19
Nads 3 for 17

3 Fines were issued:
Choco 1 fine for failing to capture a hat-trick.
Neil 1 fine for failing to have a beer at the post-mortem.
Nads for winning two consecutive matching which could condemn us to another season in “B” grade.
Possibly out of order in administering fines when not the admin cap, but as reigning captain (long live the king) I hereby give Gladdy a fine for too many mentions of the name Nads in the one article. Bless you Gladdy.
